TO MOST, THANKSGIVING IS THE TIME OF YEAR THAT MAKES PEOPLE PRETTY MUCH DO WHAT THE NAME IMPLIES: GIVE THANKS...THAT'S A NO-BRAINER, RIGHT? BUT FOR ME, THANKSGIVING REMINDS ME OF THE TERRIBLE HARDSHIP THE NATIVE AMERICANS SUFFERED ONLY TO SIT DOWN AND EAT WITH A BUNCH OF GUN-TOTING "RED-NECKS" WHO STOLE THEIR FOOD IN THE FIRST PLACE...BUT THAT'S JUST ME. ALTHOUGH ITS CONCEPTION WAS PRETTY ROUGH AND GOREY, ITS SPIRIT AND OVERALL MEANING HAVE TRUE MERIT AND RELEVANCE. BUT WHAT IS THERE TO BE THANKFUL FOR? MOST PEOPLE USUALLY SAY FAMILY, FRIENDS...SIGNIFICANT OTHERS. WITH THE CURRENT STATE OF THE ECONOMY LET'S ADD ONE: FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO STILL HAVE A JOB, BE THANKFUL FOR THAT. BUT I THINK THAT THERE IS SOMETHING THAT IS OFTEN OVERLOOKED THOUGH IT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO BE THANKFUL FOR...THE KIDS, TRULY. THE CHILDREN ARE THE PHYSICAL PROOF OF THE LOVE WE HAVE FOR OUR SIGNIFICANT OTHERS. THEY ARE TRULY THE FUTURE OF OUR WORLD AND IT IS UP TO THEM TO SECURE OUR PLACE IN THIS WORLD. SO WHEN YOUR FEEDING YOUR FINICKY TODDLER OR TRYING TO CALM YOUR LOUD AND ABRASIVE TWO-YEAR-OLD KEEP THIS IN MIND: THOUGH THEY TRY TO TEST YOUR PATIENCE WITH THEIR TANTRUMS, FOOD THROWING AND PERSISTANT NAGGING AS YOUR OFFSPRING, IT IS THEIR JOB TO CARRY ON YOUR FAMILY HISTORY, LEGACY AND TRADITIONS...THAT'S A BIG JOB. FOR THOSE OF US THAT DON'T HAVE THEM WE ARE SORELY MISSING OUT ON THAT JOY, ALTHOUGH WE DO MAKE UP FOR IT WITH MORE SLEEP, LESS EXPENSES AND (FOR SOME OF US) LITTLE BLUE SPORTS CARS...WE DO WELL SO IT'S NOT ALL BAD. FOR ONE TIME AND ONE TIME ONLY I'M GOING TO BREAK MY TRADITION AND WISH ALL OF YOU JOY, HAPPINESS AND LOVE THIS THANKSGIVING. MAY ALL OF YOUR HOPES AND DREAMS COME TRUE...AS YOU "SLICE" YOUR TURKEYS. AND FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DO NOT HAVE JOBS OR YOU WERE RECENTLY LAYED OFF, DON'T LOSE FAITH. KEEP DOING YOUR THING BECAUSE GREAT THINGS WILL COME TO YOU. WOW..AG you really cease to amaze me...you are truly a gifted writer and it is truly a blessing to be able to write down your thoughts and views on certain topics to such a wide audiance....Being Thankful is a gesture that we all should practice on a daily basis..Waking up in the morning taking a breath of fresh air, walking, talking,hearing the birds sing is truly a blessing to be thankful for..
God blesses us with so many things sometimes that blessing is a child. Our children are the most important people in our lives and are here on earth to make us understand and realize that miracles do happen..They are our Future, our offsprings and your right it's our job here on earth while we still can to nourish them and help them to grow to mature young men and women...
So this Thanksgiving I am thankful for my 2 little angels here on earth, my family, friends, my signifant other, all who have blessed my life and made it such a joyful and blessed state of mind....ohh yeahh i'm thankful for you AG for your gift of words... continue to shine...Good Work...
